This male vocal song holds such a special meaning for me. I wrote it for a dear friend, and although it’s outside my usual style, I kept working on it—redoing the lyrics over and over until I finally felt I had the right musical combination. It’s not my typical country sound, but it represents something I’ve been exploring and growing into. I’m currently working on a female version of the song, an answer piece titled “My Safety’s On.”
